TNR

Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) is the most effective way to control the outdoor cat population and keep feral and semi-feral cats healthy.

Trap

  1. Call us at 513-871-0185 to reserve your spot for TNR. You’ll pay a $10 deposit to save your space!
  2. Once your appointment is reserved, use a humane box trap (Tomahawk, Havahart, or Tru Catch recommended). Traps must be at least 9”x 9” x 26-36”. You can rent traps from OAR for a $70 refundable deposit per trap. Stop by the clinic Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., to borrow up to two traps at a time for an up to two-week period.
  3. One feral or semi-feral cat/kitten per trap—no exceptions.
  4. Cover with a towel (or other fabric) and bring to OAR’s Spay/Neuter Clinic on your appointment date.
  5. Have questions about trapping? Here’s a great resource.

Return

  1. Pick up your cat the morning after surgery at 7:30 a.m. (Friday surgeries require a same-day pick-up at 2:30 p.m.) Your cat will be ear-tipped, and you will receive instructions about release and care.
  2. Follow the instructions that OAR’s Spay/Neuter Clinic staff give you for the best results.
  3. When your cats are ready, release them back into their established territory, healthier—and with far less chance of a kitten invasion on your property!

These specials only apply to free-roaming, unowned cats that live outdoors and will be returned outdoors. Because unowned cats are one of the most vulnerable groups of cats, we strive to ensure spay/neuter is accessible to them by seeking funding to subsidize the cost. Pets, strays that will be rehomed, or owned outdoor cats are not eligible for these specials.

Thanks to the generous support of the Joanie Bernard Foundation, funding is available to fully subsidize the cost of care for community cats in any area within 100 miles of Cincinnati.

NOTICE
Effective 10/25/24 OAR will no longer be accepting TNR cats without an appointment. To make an appointment please call us at 513-871-0185, or email us at clinic@ohioalleycat.org
. To help manage our limited resources, a $10 deposit per cat will now be required. This deposit will be refunded after your appointment, as long as no additional treatments or fees are needed. Please note, however, that refunds will not be issued for no-shows or cancellations made less than 48 hours before the appointment.
