Outdoor Cats
Have you noticed cats living outdoors?
Community cats are free-roaming, outdoor cats that live outdoors. Whether they are friendly or feral (meaning they are not social with humans and may keep their distance), community cats rely on compassionate people for help, so that they can live their best lives! Many people care for community cats by providing food, water, shelter, and watching over them to make sure they stay healthy and happy.
The most effective way to help community cats is Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). During this process, cats are safely caught in humane traps and then transported to a veterinarian or clinic for spay/neuter and vaccinations. After they have recovered from surgery, community cats are returned to their outdoor home. Once they have been returned, their caretakers continue to care for them.

At OAR, we work hard to ensure there is access to spay/neuter and vaccinations for community cats. We offer TNR services including walk-in availability for spay/neuter, trap rentals, advice and guidance, and more! Visit our TNR page to learn more.
